About the Roach family
THE ROACH FAMILY ROOTS

In the Late 18th century, Henry Franklyn Roach of Spanish origin migrated to Steventon Exuma. There he met and married Lucinda Rolle of a black slave hertiage. The marriage was blessed with four sons: Thomas I, Austin I, Jabez I, Nathaniel I, and one daughter, Clementina.
All the sons and grandsons married and settled at Steventon Exuma as "Papa" Roach wanted all of his family to live together in one place.
Another significant and intresting fact is the "passing" on of Christian names of males and females to other decendents.
Many generations exist because of this union and we,the Roach family heirs, are proud of our Spanish-African / Bahamas-Exuma heritage.
